Periacetabular osteotomy (PAO) is a standard treatment for correcting acetabular coverage and preventing osteoarthritis of the dysplastic hip. Although several studies have reported good long-term results with PAO, it does not completely prevent the progression of osteoarthritis. Therefore, it is important to select patients who will receive sufficient benefit from PAO and then perform appropriate surgery with a precise target to prevent the progression of osteoarthritis.
